Tracking History
I began tracking circa 1992/3 on the Amiga although back then I had a) hardly any samples b) no idea what I was doing or c) there is no c. I decided to quit tracking in 1996 and spent the two years between then and 1998 working full time without any aspirations to do anything with music. However when I moved abroad in 1998 I purchased my first proper music workstation (A Roland XP60) and began my way into sequencing and recording.
By around 1999 I had collected a little more studio gear and had begun releasing music via OMD's such as the original MP3.com, IUMA and so on. Up until this point tracking had never resurfaced for me as a compositional tool.
However come 2003, I'd decided to set up my Amiga in my studio and voila! a couple of modules came out, not very good - but vast improvements on previous attempts simply because I had been watching (and learning) while maintaining the Mod Archive. That came to an end as soon as I decided I needed to re-fit my studio, so the Amiga went back upstairs.
2006 Saw my Amiga return to the studio which resulted in a run into AHX (Abyss' Highest Experience), a fantastic SID-style sound generator on the Amiga (4 channels) and fell in love with it, as a result the end of 2006 saw me release no less than 18 tunes within 2 weeks! Most of them are on the archive.
